CARRIER IQ: A Bloatware or a simple Information collecting Tool

There is recent chaos among smartphone users about a popular program called Carrier IQ. This small resides on your smartphone & seems to be a threat to privacy by sending logs to Carrier IQ. Most phone manufacturers incorporate this app within the phones to measure user experience & performance.

Recently a techy named Eckhart found that many mobile manufacturer preloaded Carrier IQ with their handsets. This program records all activities within mobiles & sends the log to the company, For example it records the sms, whom it is sent etc. This has made many mobile users angry.

Users now want to remove this kind of program from their mobile. The Android Market seems to have got lot of tools which say they can dectect or remove this program. If you are unable to clear then search the xda forums for removal. For this you need to be rooted (for more information on rooting see my last post).
