Google Reader will shut down this July

Google Reader, the Popular RSS feed reader will retire this July 1st. The Official Google Blog says that it will close down the popular RSS feed reader this July.

So Google Reader may be your favourite RSS reader both on Computer as well as your Android phone, you wont be able to get your favourite feeds now. Subscribers are advised to shift to other RSS feed reader to continue enjoying their daily dose of RSS feeds.

One can also get their data exported using Google Takeout, which is a service where you can download your data on the Google. Using Google Takeout you can download your data like Gmail, Reader, Blog posts etc.

Personally Google Reader is my only choice for RSS feed reader. It is very sad that Google is ending this very good project & that too so suddenly. Many would agree that Google should not end such a product which adds utility to the people. Lets hope Google hears this, till then don't forget to shift your RSS feeds to different Reader.
